Author's Note

High school is ending, for most people this means moving on to Univeristy either in the city or moving away to attend their post secondary school. For me, it means travel. Then University of course, but first I want to see the world. So I have created this bucket list to put into context everything I'd like to do before I die.

The majority of things on my bucket list have to do with travel. The first time I ever left Canada, and saw what other beautiful places exist out there, I was instantly bit by the travel bug. The first place I ventured to was London, England. It's just such a different culture and atmosphere there, I was pleasantly surprised to be a bit out of my comfort zone. I have since been back to London twice, also to Rome, Venice and Norway. I have been very fortunate to have experienced these different places. From learning about England's past in the British Museum, to bungee jumping off a bridge in Norway, I've loved it all.

But not everything on my list is about travel. I'd like to help people as well. Whether it be building a home for a stranger or contributing in the effort to stop dolphin slaughter. I feel you can't live your life for only you, you have to live it for others as well.

The question "what do you want to do before you die" isn't necessarily an easy one for people. Many factors contribute to what you can and can't do. I admit, plenty of my items on my list are unrealistic, but I think that's what makes it even more exciting. Just trying to think of how you'll attempt these things is half the adventure. I know I'll have to work hard to achieve what I'd like to do on my list, but I'm prepared to do whatever it takes. I want to experience all I can in my lifetime, because experiences make you who you are. I don't want to be 80 years old still rocking my snuggie, thinking "what if". I want to be 80 years old still rocking my snuggie thinking of all the awesome things I did.

I am determined and excited to cross off everything on my list. Wish me luck!

Writing Reflection #9

Tweeting:
I had twitter before starting this project but I'm not a huge fan of it. I don't really see a point in telling the world what you're doing every second of the day like some people do. I barely tweet and I basically only had it to follow some people I find interesting and/or funny. I do however, think it's a pretty great way for education to get across to people from around the world.

The Buried Life:
I've always been a huge fan of the show and what the guys do for other people. So when we started talking about it in class I became instantly excited. I really can't believe everything they've accomplished off their list. No matter how crazy, they find a way to do it. Their catch phrase should be "It's amazing what you can do if you're bold enough to try". Most people give up before they've even put in a good effort, just assuming they'll fail. Not these guys! For example, on one episode, Duncan sneaks into the CMA Awards and asks Taylor Swift out on a date, to cross "Ask out the girl of your dreams" off the bucket list. He dresses up as a security guy, walks up to the gate, says a few words to the woman guarding it, she gives him a pass and he's in! Just like that. Most people would think that they would be stopped right away, so they wouldn't bother attempting it. I won't ruin the episode for anyone by saying the outcome, but it just shocked me that it was as simple as that.
What Duncan, Jonnie, Ben, and Dave have done with their lives. After discovering they need more, starting a project such as this is an incredible thing. They really do help people around the world, while entertaining the world with their awesome tv show.

It's such a great idea what the four guys have done. I'd love to be part of something that amazing one day.
