Words to live by.

I posted this picture because I am currently learning how to play guitar. So far I can kind of play House of the Rising Sun and learning a City and Colour song. I really enjoy learning to play but its more difficult than I had anticipated. My teacher's name is Pierre and he is in 6 different bands, he's pretty kickass. I hope to play as well as him some day. Bring it Pierre.

Reading Reflection #2

I have just begun reading the third and final book in The Hunger Games series called Mockingjay. So far it has mostly been recap of the events that happened in the last book. One text to text connection is this book is kind of about a post apocalyptic world where the government has taken over everything. There are many other books that follow this kind of style because it is interests many people. I am one of those people. This style of writing has caught my eye in the past and hasn't disappointed me in this series.
My past predictions have been correct so far. The main character, Katniss, is now the leader of a rebellion. She has to make decisions that will impact everyone that is counting on her. It is a massive amount of pressure for a 17 year old girl. She is faced with complicated politics within the system and must make decisions that will effect many people, herself and her family included.

Recently she has discovered that Peeta is still alive. I predicted he would be alive, but I did not think he would be under the Capitol's rule. He spoke on television while the rest of the world watched in a live interview. He defended Katniss's actions in the games and gave different reasoning for why she did what she did. He is still trying to protect her because even though they escaped the arena, the games are far from over.

I am enjoying reading this book and looking forward to what is to come.

This is a lake in Palau, Australia. Its called Jellyfish Lake and you can go swimming with jellyfish. This particular species are called Golden Jellyfish and are not poisonous to humans. There are thousands upon thousands of jellyfish in this lake and it is a major tourist attraction. Bucketlisted!
Then there's my father he's always looking on the bright side
Saying things like “Son life just ain’t that hard”
He is the grand optimist, I am the world’s poor pessimist
You give him burdens sometimes and he will escape unscarred

City and Colour - Grand Optimist.

Reading Reflection #1

I just finished reading the second book in The Hunger Games series called Catching Fire. I really enjoyed the first book so I was excited to start the second. Many things happened in this book that made me react in different ways. At times I was frusterated, excited, happy, and sometimes angry at the way the characters handled the situations in the book. There were many different ideas in this book that were incredibly clever and things I never would have thought of. I like to be surprised while reading a book and this book certianly delivered in that area. There were twists and the plot thickened more and more as I read on. At first I didnt think I could relate to anything that happened in the book. For example Ive never been forced to enter a tournament where I have to fight to survive. But as I continued reading I realized even though the main character, Katniss, is going through such serious issues that most likely will never happen in reality, she still struggles with the same issues as any other teenage girl.

I predict in the next book, Katniss will have many important decisions to make. She will be faced with situations she is not prepared for and will need to react quickly and effectively to try to make the right decisions for all of the people depending on her.

Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I am now starting the third and final book and I hope it contains as many twists and turns as the previous novels. I strongly recommend reading this series.

Writing Reflection

My reactions to...
Doodling: I have not enjoyed doodling. I find it difficult to know what to doodle and it doesn’t help me think as well as it helps others.
Blog Writing: I have been struggling with my blog. I find it difficult to figure out how to do everything on it and I don’t like having my personal thoughts out there for everyone to read.
Listography: I have enjoyed the listography portion of this class. I like making them and they help me organize my thoughts. This new form of getting my thoughts onto a paper has interested me and opened my eyes to different ways of writing.
Adding personal additions: I haven’t been adding many personal additions because I’m not sure of what to write on my blog. I feel more comfortable with adding personal additions in my WRN with pen to paper rather than digitally on my blog.
Maintaining my WRN: I have been maintaining my WRN on a regular basis. I’ve added personal additions to make it unique and my own. I’ve added song lyrics, lists, and a few doodles to get my ideas across.

I think I need to get into the habit of updating and posting on my blog on a regular basis. I will continue to work on this to enhance the appearance and integrity of my blog.
