Reading Reflection #2

I have just begun reading the third and final book in The Hunger Games series called Mockingjay. So far it has mostly been recap of the events that happened in the last book. One text to text connection is this book is kind of about a post apocalyptic world where the government has taken over everything. There are many other books that follow this kind of style because it is interests many people. I am one of those people. This style of writing has caught my eye in the past and hasn't disappointed me in this series.
My past predictions have been correct so far. The main character, Katniss, is now the leader of a rebellion. She has to make decisions that will impact everyone that is counting on her. It is a massive amount of pressure for a 17 year old girl. She is faced with complicated politics within the system and must make decisions that will effect many people, herself and her family included.

Recently she has discovered that Peeta is still alive. I predicted he would be alive, but I did not think he would be under the Capitol's rule. He spoke on television while the rest of the world watched in a live interview. He defended Katniss's actions in the games and gave different reasoning for why she did what she did. He is still trying to protect her because even though they escaped the arena, the games are far from over.

I am enjoying reading this book and looking forward to what is to come.
